M’Chigeeng cycling group raises $23K for those displaced by wildfires

The "M’Chigeeng Road Warriors" organized a charity cycle and walk, raising over $23,000 to support evacuees from Namaygoosisagagun (Collins 91��˵��) after wildfires destroyed their community.

M’CHIGEENG—Standing witness to the incredible loss suffered by the community of Namaygoosisagagun (Collins 91��˵��), whose community was recently wiped from the face of the map by a raging wildfire, what can one single individual alone possibly do?

That question failed to daunt cyclist Mary Dantouze. She contacted a group of her friends and colleagues and set about doing something tangible.

“We are a small group from M’Chigeeng here, we call ourselves M’Chigeeng Road Warriors,” said Ms. Dantouze as she and a group of cyclists (and walkers) prepared to set out on a fundraising cycle to Mindemoya. “What we decided to do was to have a fundraiser for the Northern fire evacuees from Namaygoosisagagun, also known as Collin’s 91��˵��.”
