Florence Debassige of Ottawa and formerly of M’Chigeeng 91���˵���, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Elizabeth Bruyere Hospital, Ottawa, on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 in her 58th year. Florence will be forever remembered by her daughter Nakita Debassige-Carrier and stepdaughter Tracey Carrier both of Ottawa, and grandson Noah LeClair. Florence will be sadly missed by her companion John Levis, “2nd Mom” Danielle McDaniel, brothers Joe (Darlene) Debassige, Nicholas (Cindy) Debassige, Bernard Debassige, sisters Joan Abel, Mary Debassige, Doris (Jalal) Toeg, Sally Debassige and Lucy Lovell, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Samuel and Bertha (Gadabushie) Debassige and brothers Eli, Robert, Kenneth and Theodore. Visitation was held at the Saswaahns Spiritual Centre, M’Chigeeng, on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 2 pm until time of the Funeral Mass on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11 am. Interment M’Chigeeng Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy.
