The fifth annual Joe鈥檚 Poker Paddle event, held at Lily Lake in Meldrum Bay this past Saturday was a huge success! Joe Weston, organizer of the event told The Expositor, 鈥淲e more than doubled last year鈥檚 contribution raised through the event for the Manitoulin Health Centre (MHC), raising $2,500 (compared to last years MHC contribution of $1,000).鈥 As well, $250 was raised for the Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit 517 Meldrum Bay. A total of 61 participants took part in the event, using a kayak, canoe or SUP to paddle the route around Lily Lake.
