Billings Township intends to designate the historic Fox Tower in Pleasant Valley as a heritage site. The rare 1930s structure, once used for fox farming, will undergo preservation efforts.
KAGAWONG鈥擝illings Township council is providing public notice of its intent to pass a bylaw registering the historic Fox Tower in the township as a heritage site.
At a council meeting last week, council directed staff to issue the required public notice of intent to pass the bylaw. 鈥淐ouncil passed a motion at its January 22, 2026, meeting to accept the request for consideration for discussion, that the property located at 501 Fox Tower Road be declared as a property of cultural heritage value or interest as per the Ontario Heritage Act,鈥 said Billings Mayor Bryan Barker.
Council unanimously carried the motion. Councillor John Foster noted in the report to council that there is no financial impact to the municipality. 鈥淲ho is responsible for the maintenance costs (for the Fox Tower).鈥 He also asked if there is any funding support available as well.
