Navy League Cadet Corps Edwin Kift has received its official warrant and a new crest featuring Manitoulin’s swing bridge. The corps will resume its youth leadership and seamanship program this fall.
MANITOULIN—The official season for Navy League cadets is over until the fall, but just as the clock ran down, Navy League Cadet Corps Edwin Kift received both its warrant (basically the cadet corps charter) and its new crest, which will feature as the badge on the cadet’s uniforms.
These presentations represent significant achievements for the corps and reflect the hard work and dedication of the volunteers, supporters, parents and cadets who have helped bring NLCC Edwin Kift to life noted corps commander Lt. (NL) Tina Boucher. The corps looks forward to many years of providing youth on Manitoulin Island with opportunities for leadership, citizenship, teamwork, and seamanship.
“The cadets had already finished for the summer,” said corps commander Lt. (NL) Boucher. “So, they haven’t even seen the crest yet.”
