Ice, ice baby, Phil Smyth is all about the ice rink
KAGAWONG—This winter marks the fourth year that Phil Smyth has been on the maintenance crew for the outdoor rink in Kagawong. It all began when he contacted Andrew Preyde expressing an interest in helping out.
In past years,the maintenance of the rink began later in the season, but in 2025 they were able to start sooner.
The rink is “used quite a bit and that gives us a lot of satisfaction and that is why we do it.”
