Marine Safety Reminder:
As residents and visitors continue to enjoy the Manitoulin area waterways this summer, the Manitoulin OPP encourages everyone to make safety a priority every time you head out on the water. Before departing, ensure you are equipped with the required safety equipment, plan for changing weather conditions, and always wear a life jacket. Operators are reminded that alcohol and drugs can impair judgement on the water just as it can on the road, and impaired driving laws still apply on all waterways. Safe and responsible operation helps prevents collisions and ensures everyone can enjoy Ontario's waterways safely throughout the boating season.
