After a seven-year hiatus, the Manitoulin choral group 'Voices North' is reuniting under conductor Chris Theijsmeijer and organizer Alex Baran for a diverse concert in Mindemoya on September 12.
SPRING BAY鈥擨t has been seven years since they last performed in concert, but those who packed an Island venue will be thrilled to hear the news that 鈥榁oices North鈥 is back together with some familiar and some new faces and will be in concert in 17 days.
鈥榃ow!鈥 and the thought that there is a 鈥榯on of talent here鈥 were things that sprung to mind for this reporter after hearing Voices North at a rehearsal in Spring Bay on August 17.
Both newcomers and those who sang in the choir previously are thrilled to be able to share their talent with a local audience. Soprano Laura Hunter, of Kagawong, told The Expositor during the rehearsal intermission, 鈥淚鈥檓 loving it; this is such a great opportunity to perform with another group that provides a high level of singing.鈥
