GORE BAY—Students from Charles C. McLean Public School in Gore Bay placed extremely well at the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) Remembrance poster, poem and essay competition at the 2025 zone level.

Jim Woods, Poppy and Youth Education Chairperson (RCL Branch 514 Gore Bay) presented awards and certificates to students on April 7. The recipients included Joshua Joyce-second place in primary Grade black and white poster, Arlo Menzies second place in Junior coloured poster, and Alex Wright, third place in Intermediate black and white poster.
