MISSISSAUGA—Hopefully, this year will prove a charm, as CHAW 103, Manitoulin’s country music station is once again nominated for Country Music Station of the Year (small market). This marks more than a decade of nominations for the station, which hit the airwaves in 2016 (its predecessor CFRM was also nominated in 2013 as “secondary market” station).

“We are always humbled to see our name on this ballot with so many great stations in this province,” said station co-owner KT Timmermans. “As a locally owned and operated radio station, this nomination continues to mean a great deal to us. I am so proud of our small but mighty team at Country 103, Great Lakes Country. Thank you to the membership for continuing to put our name forward. We are very proud to support country music across Ontario and Canada.”

In competition for Radio Station of the Year (small market) Country 103 will be facing: CFDC (COUNTRY 105), Shelburne; CHLP-FM (The Ranch 100.1), Listowel; CHVR (Pure Country 96.7), Pembroke; CICX (PURE COUNTRY 106), Orillia; CJDL-FM (Country 107.3), Tillsonburg; and CKYY (Country 89), Welland.
