Mindemoya hosted the 2nd Marc Hovingh Youth Bike Ride and Rodeo, bringing regional police and youth together for safety training and bicycle giveaways honoring the fallen officer.
MINDEMOYA鈥擳he 2nd Marc Hovingh Youth Bike Ride and Rodeo, coming on the heels of the Tour de Force鈥攖he Ontario cycling event honouring fallen police officers鈥攕aw a large police presence from all over the Northeast and Central regions of the province.
OPP Northeast Regional Commander John Dumond was there, interacting with kids and adults alike. 鈥淲e have people here from all over the place,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e have representations from general headquarters; we have people that are here from some of our bureaus that are supporting the Tour de Force. So, yeah, it鈥檚 really a nice little turnout for the organization. And we rely heavily on our partners, UCCM鈥檚 here, WTPS is here. We rely very heavily on them. And it鈥檚 a really nice sort of collaborative partnership that we have here,鈥 he said.
