Search warrant leads to seizure of drugs and weapons in M’Chigeeng, six charged

M’CHIGEENG—On September 16th, 2026, the UCCM Drug Enforcement Unit, K9 Unit, and Crime Unit, with assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a search warrant at a residence on Assance Drive in M’Chigeeng 91��˵��. During the search police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, a loaded Glock 19 handgun with ammunition, an extended magazine capable of holding 24 rounds, Canadian currency, and other evidence indicative of drug trafficking.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing on September 17^th, 2026:

Blade BEBONING (32) of M’Chigeeng 91��˵��
Stephen CORBIERE (47) of M’Chigeeng 91��˵��
Josephine CORBIERE (50) of M’Chigeeng 91��˵��
Martha LARIVIERE (48) of M’Chigeeng 91��˵��
A young person from the Greater Toronto Area, who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).

The accused have jointly been charged with the following offences:

Possession of Schedule I substance for the purposes of trafficking (Cocaine) – CDSA 5(2)
3X Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition – CC86(1)
2X Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose – CC88
Possession of prohibited device or ammunition for dangerous purpose – CC88
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm – CC91(1)
Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device – CC91(2)
Knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm – CC92(1)
Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition – CC92(2)
Possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm – CC95(1)
Possession of proceeds obtained by crime under $5000.00 – CC354(1)(a)

The UCCM Anishnaabe Police Service reminds the public that protecting the safety, health and well-being of our communities requires us to work together.

“We need your help, your information and your assistance to effect meaningful change,” police urge.

“Drug trafficking can bring violence and other serious criminal activity into our communities, including home invasions, serious assaults and homicides,” UCCM Police continue. “It can also contribute to addiction, homelessness and overdose deaths, causing lasting harm to individuals, families and communities. Anyone with information that could assist an investigation is encouraged to speak directly with police. Information is best protected and acted upon when police receive it firsthand.
